CONVICTED. EDDIE ("Crazy Eddie") ANTAR, 45, former home-electronics king; on 17 counts, including stock fraud and racketeering that ultimately netted him some $80 million; in Newark. At its peak in the '80s, the Crazy Eddie chain was known throughout the Northeast for its low-priced electronics. Through inflated inventory records and other scams, Antar apparently pumped up the value of Crazy Eddie stock and made a fortune by selling his shares before the truth came out, a scheme uncovered in 1987. Antar, who for some time was a fugitive living in Israel, faces up to 11 years in prison.
